Default TR 230/236, come in!

Ok, here's the deal. I'm ready for a cam and was planning on ordering the TR230. Some people have been telling me that the cam is a very high revving cam and will not match well with my 3500 stall. Others have told me that it would be a blast to drive on the street, just wouldnt have as good e.t. on the track. Whats the deal?? Anyone running any other Thunder cams and wanna tell me how they like them?

Thanks,
Ryan

GOT-V8 had that cam and 3500 stall, his car was a beast on the street, made 406hp 426 tq with a horrible tune yet pulled like crazy on a roll. It was my inspiration to buy my LS1, he has since went Turbo.

I got my 230/236 in mine with TSP ported LS6's and it made 410/385 with a few more bolt ons to go. It's fun around town but mine is a manual. Overall I'm very happy with how mine turned out.

What about the sound of the cars you guys described with the cam? Do they have a good beat to them?? Do you have to really turn the motor to get the cam to pull hard?

With my cam/heads/exhaust (B&B) it sounds basically stock with a little lope to it at idle (950rpm). When I first start it there is a bit of surge but once it's warmed up it's not increadibly noticable with all the cutout/loudmouth/etc cars around. I like it that way however. Mine seems to pull anywhere above 2500. Torque is enough however that it's still alot of fun to drive around town, and that's with stock gearing.

I'm shifting mine at 6800rpm if you were wondering what it revs to.

will this cam work well with stock 241 casting heads with no milling, or is it too big?
