Default how hot should the car be running?

my 01 C5 with a trak cam and exhaust was almost hitting 220 degrees while I was pulling up to a stoplight - is that too hot? What is normal? It has a 160 thermostat if that means anything.

I think thats pretty hot, considering mine NEVER see's 200 with almost 90 more cubes, unless I sit in traffic for 30 minutes with the a/c on max in 95* hot south Florida weather. But 220* is nothing bad for an LSx engine.

If the entire cooling system is working it shouldn't get that hot.

I think "normal" temp is different for everyone. Mine runs around 185* all the time as long as I'm moving. If I stop or sit in traffic it creaps up a little bit.

One of the culprits that noone ever checks is a clogged A/C condensor. Over the years little rocks, sticks, pebbles, grass, etc. will clog it all up.
