ratling sound coming from the engine bay when i hit 5000 rpm
ratling sound when i hit about 5000 rpm on any gear, comes from the engine bay, mechanic said it came from the valve covers, could i have a loose rocker? input guys, after the fast intake install, i noticed this at 5000 rpm, didnt do it before, what do u guys think it is

well my mechanic called me and he said that theres a loose vavle spring i think he said #5, hes gonna check if its weak and needs replacement or just adjustment thnx guys for ur help, im glad nothing broke off inside the engine

ok guys now im scared, cause on thursday the mechanic went to a doctors meeting, and on friday today, he went on to medical leave, so the owner of the shop was there but hes not a mechanic, i asked him about my car and he said hell look up my file and call me back, then he calls me back and says that he sees a quote of 1300 dollars, and im like what, they told me that it was a valve spring, and he told me to not take it to the heart cause he dosnt know what is the deal, basicaly i spent 710 dollars for a brand new maf a tps sensor and a new starter with labor, and they said the prob was fixed, so when i go, i pay, then i take the car out to go home, well i go to about 5000 rpm and guess what the ratling sound is there or clicking sound whatever u wanna call it, so i go back and tell him, he sayd ur kidding right, so he gets in the car with me and heres the noise, so after we get off, he tells me that he wont charge me labor for the work for what the problem is, that was on tuesday, wednesday he calls me and says they found the prob, he says its a weak or broken or whatever valve spring, on thursday hes out for doctors, and friday hes out on medical leave, now there is more mechanics there, but im afraid that they found something else, and might have to tear into the engine, anyways, after telling me its something now its a 1200 dollar thing, but i just spent 710 on somthing that didnt fix my prob, what should i do?

one thing i forgot to mention, when i was takingoff the knock sensors the knock sensor connecto broke,and since gm didnt have the connector i jsut used the red rtv sealant to hold it in place,
if it is a ping how do i deal with it, and how do i find out if it is a ping?
