Default Cometic gasket question

so are these side specific because i dont see this side up, or front on either of them. How do these go on?

anyone? i already have to pull one head back off because i forgot one of the head alignment dowels

I would think if all the holes line up (bolt holes, coolant passages, etc.) you should be correct. On the MLS gaskets from GM, one goes on normally the other is upside down.

ill have to pull the head to see if its lined up right, i have to anyways cause i forgot to use one of the dowels

I wondered the same thing when I was putting my new motor together I took a chance.Made sure no holes were covered and put them on..no problems yet

they both looked exactly the same and it had the same holes on both sides so i dont see how it could be wrong

dont mean to hijack but my motor was missing one of the dowels for the heads. where can i get another one?

The gaskets are the same, just install them with the hole aligned.

Gaskets are not side specific, but they do have a front/rear orientation.

Just make sure the larger hole in the gasket is toward the rear of the block.

i went to the dealer and they were 10 bux each and id have to wait a week for them, went to a machine shop down the street and they were a dollar each in stock, FYI they are the same as BB chevy ones so that will make it easy
