Question Identifying Stock Valve Springs? How?

How do I tell if my 2001 LS1 Camaro SS engine has the stock valve springs, or if they have been upgraded? Thanks

Just buy new ones if you think they need changed. It's cheap insurance vs. the cost of a motor.

????????

LS1 have beehive, so the only replacements that look alike are Comp 918, and LS2/LS6

918s have a blue stripe, LS6 (late model 02+) Yellow or orange

Another way is to measure the seat pressures.

Gotcha...Thanks. Where does one buy an affordable, but accurate, valve spring tension tool?

Question Valve Spring Tension

Does each spring have to be removed & bench tested, or is there a tool that can be used with them still installed? I will check Summit, Jeg's, etc. Thanks

Yeap, each spring would have to be removed and bench tested.
