Default no oil pressure

I just got done installing my 6.0l with L92 heads in my 98 T/A It's ready to run except a throttlebody which i will have monday. I went to prime the pump today and couldn't get any oil pressure. I poured in 6 quarts of oil cheked the dipstick to make sure it was full, pulled the fuel pump fuse, disconnected the coil harnesses and turned it over with the starter for a total of probably 1 1/2- 2 min. and the needle didn't even twitch. I had my dad look in the valvecover while i was cranking on it and he couldn't see any oil coming up. I checked and made sure the sender was plugged in. I pulled the oil filter off and it was dry as a bone. When I assembled the engine I used a SLP LS6 ported pump and I DID put the diverter plug in the back of the block. The only thing I can think of is I had the spark plugs in when I was cranking it and maybe it couldn't turn over fast enough? Anybody else have any ideas? thanks.

You won't get any pressure until the engine is strated, if you don't get pressure within 3 seconds after starting the engine, shut it down and look for issues that might be causing the problem, pinched or damaged oil pump o-ring, if you're using a double roller timing chain, check to make sure you have the spacers installed correctly.

...classic sign of a pinched oil pump pick-up tube O-ring!

drop the oil pan and replace the o-ring on the pick-up tube with a new one from the General.

Before you go taking off the oil pan, make sure that plug is in the FRONT of the motor right by the oil pump. I bought a brand new 6.0 block and forgot to put the plug in. If it's there, then it's the o-ring on the pickup tube.

Don't feel bad, I'm in the exact same boat as you.

I had a bad fuel pump and tried starting my car a few times, each time it cranked for a few seconds it got oil pressure.
