Ring Gap problem
I bought a set of Total Seal rings, they are very nice. Anyway, they are for a stock 3.089 bore, I have a 3.905 bore. The top ring comes out to .035 to .037 without any filing. The second ring is gapless.
This motor will be run with a Vortech YSi blower. Would the .035 to .037 be ok, considering the 2nd ring is gapless? I was shooting for a .020 - .022 gap on the first ring. I would hate to buy a new set of rings, the Total Seal rings are the best I have seen.

If they are brand new, have never been filed, you have the original packaging, etc. call Total Seal Customer Service and see if you can send them back for their evaluation and exchange. These rings won't work for your engine.

The second ring is gapless on purpose. It is a 2 part ring. There is an expansion gap on both parts of the ring, that isn't an issue.
I have been thinking of what the effect might be of running the rings as is. My guess is there might be too much blow through down to the second ring, putting too much pressure on the gapless ring. If it isn't going to work, I'd like to know exactly why it would not work.
That would be my guess, I am far from an expert on this.
