Default Good cam for a 2600lbs car?

Lookin for a good cam only for my RX7..I plan on spraying a lil nitrous but mostly all motor for now. Im looking at the TSP torquer v2..(232/234) on a 112...gonna be using stock 241 with an LS6 intake while my 243s get ported....give me your thoughts. Car is a 6 speed with 4.11's(they come stock in the RX7s)

Should be a nice setup in a car of that weight. Have you considered a cam from LG Motorsports? The G5X3 is a popular cam around here.

Trex cam, trust me. As long as you have a good tuner, the car has fine street manners.

The real trick is getting a nice progressive TQ curve in a car like that. I want to do a E36BMW swap bad, and have mulled this over myself.

On a car with IRS, never meant to run that kind of TQ, let alone that kind of TQ off the line, you dont want stump pulling TQ at 2500RPM.

But to get a cam that lives between 3000 and 6500, you might have to sacrifice some manners.

Tough call. I like the idea of 5.3 heads with the varible ratio rockers to help any cam acomplish this.

I had a MUCH bigger cam in my LT1 car that woke up around 3500rpms and was pretty shitty down low..it didnt really bother me..I just dont wanna go to something as big as the TRex..I was trying to keep it in the lower 230s.

doesnt matter..just something that makes good power...I dont care about stealth..most people around here will just think its a rotary with a big misfire.

Hahaha well I just want something street/nitrous friendly that isnt small but isnt big. I want something with a little 3k+ kick to it...enough to get me goin before it opens up(prolly wont help with traction anyways but one can hope) I dont plan on spinning the motor past 65-6800rpms though.

I like my 232/240(XE-R) 112+4 in my rx7. It took a bit a tuning to tame it, and its still not quite perfect, but I could drive it every day if I wanted to. Power loss down low wasn't huge and it pulls way harder up top then it did with the stock cam(obviously).

If you spent enough time and got the tune right you could get away with a trex or other big cam, I doubt I would want to go much bigger than I already did though.

You'd like this one, will not make the car obnoxious, long flat powerband, will act bigger than what it is.

I call it the Raptor

Expect over 400 rwhp/385 rwtq cam only and 430+ with good heads.

I'm happy with the trex in my rx7. I think the topend oriented powerband suits the car and eases traction issues a bit. It comes on at 3500-4000 but even before that the car moves fairly well given the light weight and 4.11 rear.

Well the trex is a lil big for my taste on this car...but something like the TSP torquer 3 is about as big as I would go... you guys think I would be better off with that cam moreso than the torquer?

The "RAPTOR" cam specs are as follows:

227/230 .639/.604 114+4 LSA

114 LSA
110 ICL

intake lobe LSK Comp Cam # 2127
exhaust lobe XFI Comp Cam # 3036

I like grinding my cams from Thunder racing since they have good customer service and when it comes to cams, they issue a complete lift report with every grind. not just a cam card that is generic, but a actual report.

BTW, the reason I put +2 in your suggestion is because you wanted the cam to carry further in the rpms, so I made it less exhaust biased.
