Car just went nuts

Default Car just went nuts

On the way home tonight after the head can cam install . I drove about 20 miles and when i got to my home town the mph and tach stop working and the car started running like dog **** and kinda knocking and now it wont start . What the hell did i do now?

Is air coming out of the intake?

did you forget to connect a ground wire or didnt tighten up all your grounds ?

Default dont thinkk so

there was three of them of the back of the driver side head . I put all of them together and then tightened the bolt

I'm suprised it even ran that way.

I did that on mine & it wouldn't even fire up. I had to go back & look at my buddies motor & then put my grounds exactly like they were before removing them. Then the car fired right up & haven't had a issue since.

there are more than those 3 ground wires, there are a few, I think one is mounted on the motor mount or close to it on drivers side and one towards the rear on the passenger side behind the motor mount

You'll never touch those for a basic H/C install unless you drop the motor out the bottom which is way too much work.

sounds like you broke the crank position wire or almost at least

I doubt it would have started in the first place if that had happened.


It definitely sounds like a ground problem, considering it was doing fine for awhile there.

Check to see if any wires melted against the manifold or headers...it seems that everything worked until something arced out...maybe melted??
