LS6 cam gives high HP #s only above 5k rpms?
Just wondering if anyone has any insight on this.
I know a lot of guys seem to be getting good HP numbers from running a Z06 cam in their LS1s, but looking at the dyno graphs of these cam compared to a stock LS1 cam, they seem to only shine above 5,000 rpms, really noticable over 5,500 rpms.

So this begs the question, how usable is this 30HP gain many guys are getting on the street or track? This cam doesn't seem to give much at all before 5k, in fact you seem to lose a little power? No flames but, it doesn't seem like a good street cam choice, due the power only coming on a lot higher up...
Thanks for any info!

Weird;
Is the ZO6 exhaust less restrictive than the regular Vette?
I've heard a few ZO6's and they sound MEAN AS HELL!!!
I suppose you proved this point about the cam the other day when you blew the doors off a 405HP ZO6 yellow jacket with your silver GM Hot Cam F-Body!!!

On my dyno graph the HP and TQ start to climb fast at 3200RPM. They both start to level off at 5500rpm. Max HP is at 6200 and max Tq at 4500.
It is however a true 2002 LS6 engine. So the heads might have something to do with it.

I was not trying to take anything away from the potency of a true Z06!
(But I did blow one away)
