Default stroker guys in here

What are the highest dyno numbers you have seen from an all stroke/stock bore LS1/LS6 motor?

Seems to me that the bore produces most of the horsepower in a a big cubic inch motor.

Also, should a car with 4.125" crank and stock bore make about the same torque as a 427? Mainly, is stroke the only determinant of torque?

Bore generally has more to do with torque than stroke.

That's the 1st time I've ever heard that school of thought!

The longer the stroke the more torque...

I am wondering because I have the same stroke as the superstroker guys (4.125" crank) but no bore.

I am only putting out 450lb ft of torque.

I'm putting out 448 TQ with a very mild set of heads and 10.3:1 compression. 382 Stroker.

Ya I'm worried cause I am putting out the same numbers as you with supposedly a very nice set of heads, a decent sized cam, and around 10.7 to 1 compression.

What do you call a decent sized cam?

You need to look at your torque curve and not just peak torque. Strokers normally have 400+ ft-lbs over a wide rpm band w/o having to rev to the moon.
Also, should a car with 4.125" crank and stock bore make about the same torque as a 427? Mainly, is stroke the only determinant of torque?

No. the extra cubes of the 427 should produce more TQ and HP accross the board. Midrange Torque will also be effected by head porting, cam selection, and header and exhaust size.

Whats weird is that I lost 9hp when I went to 1 7/8" headers and a full 3" exhaust on the same dyno but on different days.

I was reffering to boring as opposed to stroking. My mistake

It did 464hp, 453tq with TPIS headers, Borla Stingers.

Then it did 455hp, 452tq with Cartek 1 7/8" headers and Stainless Works 3" exhaust.

BTW, this is on a 2002 Z06. Heads were brand new LS6 castings ported and flowed around 315cfm at .600.

Dude if I recall right, you have a baby cam in there. Seems to me like these Lunati strokers dont make more peak horsepower than a regular heads/cam car unless you try a much bigger cam to utilize the extra cubic inches.

The cam I currently have is designed for heads/cam or cam only cars. I will report back when I try my new cam.

Also, how much do you think I can safely spray my Lunati motor? Remember the LS6 block has not been bored out at all.

I was thinking upto a 200 shot will be ok.

ttt

So does anyone have an alternative to the LS6 intake? Should I get the guy that ported my heads to do my intake?

I'm building a similair set up so I'm curious as to how high you rev with that long of a stroke? I'm going with a 246/246 600/600 112LS cam. I'm hoping to be done by the end of the month, it's just that everything seems to be on back order.

If you have a 4.125 stroke I would look at doing a new cam on a 114 LSA not a 112.
