4" stroke issues with a 6.0 block?
In the near future I am going to begin a LS1 buildup for my car and I'm trying to decide on what stroke to go with. I have a 6.0 block and my original intentions were to use the stock crank but since I am using L92 heads, which they limit me to a hydraulic roller, I was planning on a 3.9-4.0" stroke to help lower the power band some (I will run the car in No-electronics and electronics bracket racing). I will be running carburetor on this setup BTW. However, I see so many 402-408's running around without issues(that I know of) but I recently heard of a 408 that had problems with the piston coming too far out of the bottom of the cylinder, which messed the skirts up and cause bad oil consumption. I just wanted to see if anyone else has seen issues with this. Thanks for any comments.

A 4.0" stroke crank with 6.125" rods should not have any problems with a LQ4 or LS2 block as long as the pistons are setup correctly. If the piston is coming too far out, I would guess that pistons for a stock crank where used with a 4.0: stroker crank.
