Default rod bolts

Whats the limit on the connecting rod bolts on the 2000 stock ls1?
i was thinking of adding a small 50-75 shot to the ms4 just for insurance.

I am fairly certain the isse of rod bolts have to do with the rpm you spin the motor up to. The pistons should give out before the bolts, or the rods for that matter.

I believe 01-02 have stronger rod bolts than the 98-00, but i may have the years off by one. If you want to do it right, and are spinning it 6400, then go with ARP rod bolts. Arent that bad of an install either from what I've read.

if i were in doubt i would no doubt fit the arps too,
but the ls1s are proven sub 7000 rpm with the factory bolts.
you said you set the limiter to 6400,with the dose of nitrous
ye may run max limited revs initially 1st-2nd gear then limit the rpms to a more feasable 6200rpm with the gas because the readjusted to a more retarded ignition timing required to ensure detonation is minimised(remmembering detonation is the no1 cause of rod bolt failures not the rpms by itself) so ensure proper fuel control by compensating on ye map by retarting a few degrees which interm will result in max power lower rpms.which it goes hand to hand with the higher load demands and your compromised for nitrous tune with the new found optimum for max high load rpms.
beats putting in new rod bolts if its all ok.

I'd be more worried about breaking a ring landing on the stock pistons before breaking the rod bolts,Thats what happen to me any way.
