Default balancer installer or not????

to reinstall the stock harmonic balancer, use a balancer installer/pulley pusher or no? my friend swears i need the tool, but others say no

You should always use the tool to install a balancer. NEVER hammer on one. When you do that, you are driving the crank up against the thrust bearing.

And don't use a longer bolt, many have taken this approach and damaged their crank threads. I made a tool and have posted it several times recently (think people are sick of seeing it but I hate seeing guys get in trouble with their car for no reason).

Would you really like to take the chance of royally screwing up the crank threads? Use the proper tool...unless you like the idea of helicoiling a big bolt hole in a cramped area...
