It isnt the pullys fault. Something else got hosed in the process of you installing it. Id start by checking the fuses first, you might have blown one.

When you say won't turn, do you mean by hand or there is not power to the starter? Is the motor bound?

Oh, if it wont hand turn then something is wrong for sure. A little background on the motor would be good.

Did it turn before the install? Are the plugs in? How did you install it?

Please dont say you hit it with a hammer and maybe messed up the thrust bearing?

Default possible pulley problem

It may well be the pulley. I bought one of these when they first came out and it was not machined correctly. Part of the pulley was contacting the oil pump housing, preventing the motor from turning over. Take the pulley back off and compare to the GM one. March sent me a free replacement with no hassle. The new one works fine.

Yep, I seem to remember issues with the March pulleys. Pull it off and see if the motor turns, that is likely your problem.

I had this exact problem. I posted the question here:- https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/781740-engine-jamed-cant-move-pulley-wheel.html

I removed the March pulley wheel and fitted the stock and then the engine turns.
I have a ported SLP pump, I was wondering if this was slightly bigger perhaps it was jaming on the march pulley wheel.

Just out of interest what oil pump do you have fitted?

If I have to CNC a bit off the pulley wheel to make it fit, then thats okay, but how much, and where is it jamming? I kept the engine in the car and was running out of workshop time so the stock one had to go back on, and no time for investigation into this.

looks like the step on the end of the balancer is'nt machined far enough. mine has a .210 step i'm about to take another .125. the balancer hits the front of the oil pump.

Hope this works for you. If too much was taken off I cant see it causing a problem if you dont get too near the oil seal, would that be right?
.125" sounds like an ideal amount to try.

Could you post your results when you've done it. Would be much appreciated.

I've done searchs in the past and couln't find anyone that had the same trouble as me, until I came accross your post.

I had the issue in 2005. Here is the picture, bottom of the article, #11:

I know it says ASP but it's the same for a March.

My engine builder did not tell me. I assume he matched the picture because that's what I sent him. Sorry.

I just called March for the same thing and they dont know of any issues with their pulley. So who knows what I'm going to do, guess get a different pulley.

I am going to have a friend at work machine it down for me today (I'm electrical guy).

First I'm going to take pics with micrometer to send to March and show them how different it is from the stock pulley.
