Default LS6, Weiand, or Sheetmetal intake for 454 LS1

The motor is finished its a 454 LS1..4.125 bore with a 4.250
stroke.. Stage 3 6.0 L heads 2.10 intake 1.60 Exhaust. They flowed close to 340 cfm on intake and high 200's on exhaust. Cam is fairly beefy but not solid roller.. Jessel Shaft mount rockers. Looking for 500 RWHP through a OD Auto tranny. Shift points will be around 5800 rpm..

Now we need to pick a intake..

The LS6 seems fairly popular But we are looking for every last HP.

Weiand intake we can port match to the heads but from what ive herd the flow numbers have been disapointing TRUE or FALSE?

Or Sheetmetal custom intake If we go this route we will just use a ls6 for now and have a sheet metal intake built..
Any opinions or dyno numbers for a sheetmetal intake vs. LS6?

One last thing we are looking at 38lb injectors big enough?????

I had been thinkig a 454 LS1 would be interesting, but had never heard of anyone going that big. Keep us up to date.

Any problems getting to the 4.125 bore; what block - LQ4 iron, Darton-sleeved aluminum?

Any problems getting the 4.25 stroke; what did you need to do to the block - lots of "clearancing", right?

Interesting setup, I wonder if your peak torque will be even lower than mine was (4200 rpms). I did 475rwhp/505rwtq with my 422ci iron block, I think if you have big enough headers you can hit 500rwhp with a locked 4L60E.

I'd try an LS6 intake first and then you might want to work with a intake company to figure out what will work best with your shift points. I am concerned that most of the aftermarket stuff has great top end at the expense of the low end.

And he might have great low end, so great that he could afford to trade some of it off for top end

Although I'd try the LS6 first.

I think a steetmetal manifold, with longer runners.

I have been thinking about this for a few days now since the talk about manifold started up again. Look at the the manifold on the C5R motor as an example.

I think a manifold like the Viper, or the old SHO Taurus would be the ticket. Low enough to fit under the hood, but with runners long enough to get eh job done without loosing a ton of power.

I have been trying to find the math required to figure out length, size, etc...

Its going in this!

But the headers on it now are very crappy shorties.. We need to get someone to build some custom Long tube type headers for it.. The block is a re sleved LS1.. Not a C5R it has bad *** Oliver Rods..

Well we already have my SS which is a 409 LT4 with n20 so we wanted to see what a LS1 could do! Plus the LS1 is 200 lbs lighter..

Is that an Impala? ...their cool, I saw one once with a 502 Chevy big block

...it reminded me of a Camaro on steriods....How was the swap? ...did anything need to be fabricated?
