Default Boring a 98 ls1 block

i have a '98 ls1 block and was wondering if it is safe to bore it .030 over to install forged pistons. thanks

max = .005 for 98 block
max = .010 for 99+ block

the reason i ask is that i'm looking at a set of mahle pistons that i'm told are .030 over. i'm told they are for 98-2000 corvette ls1. i don't know if i should buy them or not risk my money.

Didn't you read the previous post. Anyone that tells you that they have .030 over pistons for a LS1 is full of bullshit. They may be .003 over - that would make them OK for a honed 98 LS1.
