Default Broke It!!

Dammit, I knew to watch out for it and I STILL broke it! I think the harness was snagged on it more than it should have been. The intake moved MAYBE 1/2" and the "snap". So..what is it and how much will it cost me?..

Oil pressure sending unit. Not sure but I think they are in the $40 range... You'll need an install socket also.

Don't be to hard on yourself.. it happens a lots. If you search the forum you will find that many do it while changing the Manifold or that they do fail.

Does that have to be plugged in? Or can I just go aftermarket oil psi gauge? Been wanting to add one anyhow...or do I have to pickup the psi somewhere else if I go aftermarket? $40 is part way to a quality gauge.

Don't know for sure but, if you're going after market, go mechanical.
Really, this happens all the time. If you go with another electric gauge, I think you are going to have to replace the sender anyway. The socket is available from discount auto parts places.

Good Luck...

I don't think it is more than $20. I broke mine a few years ago when doing my ls6 intake swap. And as far as the install socket Fuc- it I just used my hand it has been on for a few years and still running strong. Go to a GM dealer and pick one up I think it is like 15 bucks.

How do you break these, unless you're just yanking your intake with no regard for the sending unit?

Yea. I know what you are saying. In my case I think someone had maybe been back there before and something was snagged on it. I am not shitting when I say it moved half and inch and then snapped. I knew it was back there, but I assumed I at least had that much play!
