Default Which Cam...

I have read most of the threads on cams and yes i am still confused.. I need help, which cam do you think will be good for my car. I have a 02 z/28 A4 with ss hood, ported mass air and throttle body, headers, y pipe and exhaust. Yank 3600 stall, 3.42 gears and when at the track a dry shot of no2(Around 125 shot at the motor) I was thinking maybe a F13 because of its popularity at 114 lsa. I plan on upgrading not only the cam but springs, push rods, retainers and i think i will have to do lifters also along with a new timing chain. I'm probably forgetting something...help me out of you can plz... Eventually I will get a set of heads, probably the Patriot Heads (1000.00) Any more suggestions or help with be helpful. I want to go as cheap as possible but dont want to spare quality, just like anyone else. If there is another cam as good, thats does the same thing but cheaper let me know...but i dont want to have to do it all again in a year because of cheap parts. I think this is it...thx in advance

Is this car car going to be mostly street or track. With an auto you really should also put a stall in it, if you are putting in a larger cam. For a street car, I like the TSP 228R or a 228/232 custom grind. I run a 228/232 cam in mine, and really like it.

He has a 3600 stall. The F13 or an MS3. What about a custom spec cam?

I think any high 220 or low 230 duration would work well for you. Try a search on the 228/232 xer cam. Lots of info on that cam.

Talk to Patrick G about a custom cam. I'm gonna go to him once it comes time for me.
