Default Oil Sending Unit

where is the oil sending unit located? anyone have any pics or can tell me where exactly to look?

Its behind the intake...very hard to get to. Its about 2.5 to 3" tall and about 1" diameter. Threads straight down into the block directly behind the intake.

You'll have to take off the intake manifold to get to it, and make sure you put the manifold back on carefully. People have actually broken the units when installing their manifolds back on.

+1. Im guilty of it, first time I ever swapped an intake snapped the oil sending unit right off. Damn vacuum line.

Make it easy on yourself and go to autozone and get the special socket to remove the sensor. I paid 7 bucks for mine becuase it was the last one there and it was open. With this all you do is unplug the sensor and use the socket with a rachet. No removing the intake.

+1 on the tool. especially if you have the coolant crossover on the back.

it's round and black and is behind the manifold a few inches from the center towards the deover side. you can't see it with the manifold on but if you reach back there you can feel it.

I ripped mine off when i installed the LS6 intake in my old Firehawk.
