new heads....200miles to the tuner...
if i installed some new heads....say the TSP 5.3L 59cc heads....
could i limp the car to the tuner, about a 200mi trip?
drive it at nite, so no traffic really. and no high rpm runs?
how bout if i installed some SVO #30 injectors with it?
i would think if i gave it some time at idle and low throttle to "learn" a bit...i could make it. maybe throw some octane boost in it just for that small advantage to curb detonation.
or is that too much compression to run on cam only tuning?

You already have a tune for the cam. It should run fine getting to the tuner assuming you don't go much past 20~25% throttle. Just make sure you have some good gas in the tank before you under go the surgery.
As for the injectors, I'd swap 'em out when you got to the tuner. SVO 30's run more like 36lb injectors in our cars because of the difference in rated vs. our rail pressure (3-bar vs 4-bar). To avoid flooding the engine and fouling out plugs, I wouldn't drive there with them in.
The other option would be to call the tuner ahead of time, see if you can send him your PCM, and have him send it back with a base tune that will get you there with everything installed.

I brought my injectors to the tuners and swapped them in the parking lot prior to tuning the car. If you go easy with the heads (closed loop) you should be OK but I would wait until you get there for the injectors. I brought all the tools, rags, paper towels, oil can, etc. so the swap would go easy and clean.

it should be ok as long as you ***** foot it. just to be on the safe side I would rent a trailer or tow dolly. I am sure if you ask around on the boards in your local area someone can help you out.

If your already tunned for the cam in the car the heads will make a minimal difference. The injectors on the other hand would be a problem. As earlier stated I would take them with me and install them once I got there.
