Default Metalic squeel problem, please help...

Hey guys. I have a little problem with my ls1 GTO

When i start it cold, it will have like a metalic whine/squeel, at first i thought it was a slipping belt, but after closer listening and examination, it is a metalic type of sound...

this only happens when it is a cold start, after it gets all heated up etc, the sound goes away. It is definitely coming from the front of the motor, it seems to be something like a pulley going bad or a pulley bearing or something. idk.

any ideas of what it could be ? any areas that are particularly problematic for the ls1 belt systems ?

also, im wondering, if it is the water pump, how hard is it to take out and re intall the pump... it doesnt LOOK that hard, but that doesnt mean much

might be a pulley. to test just get a can of spray wd40 with the little red pinpoint tube and spray each pulley individually while its making the noise(try to get near the bearing behind and in front of the pulley) if spraying a pulley reduces/eliminates the noise, then you know where its coming from.
i hope this helps. and i hope its only a pulley!
