Default Intake Gaskets?.

Can you re-use the rubber intake gaskets? Mine look in good shape other than the seem really flat. I thought about pulling them out, and letting them "bounce back" and puting them back in. I cant find them cheaper than $60 on vendor sites..thats rediculous! Fel-Pro sells them for about $20 but I cant find a parts store who carrys them in house.

I bought a complete head/cam gasket kit from Thunder Racing when I did my swap. The replacement intake gaskets were much thicker than the ones I took out, fyi about 110k miles on my motor.

I see what you mean, the GM intake manifold gaskets are about $60. I noticed the FAST 78/90 intake gaskets are only $26 froom Thunder Racing. I don't know if these fit the LS1/6 intake though.

Not sure where you got the price, Skoggin's should have them cheaper if you got a local dealer price. Also, the FAST intake gaskets are about $25 and stiffer gaskets as well. You might look into those. I wouldn't re-use if they are squashed. Mine were not only flattened but were full of grit too. I replaced them.

Yeah, I got the felpros from Oreillys for about $22. Mine also looked good and flat, but when i started taking them out, they started falling apart.... Would be a good thing for you to change them while youre in there.
