Default is this worth it? gen III hotcam and stg 3 LS6 heads

hey yall my buddy bought the hotcam kit from gmperformanceparts seen here http://www.sdparts.com/product/12480...mshaftKit.aspx he also bought these heads http://www.lmperformance.com/5093/1.html he decided to go a completely different route with a forged 402 and wants to get rid of the cam and heads...if i buy the heads he will give me the cam and kit for free....what kind of power am i looking at making with that setup...i already have full boltons and its through a 9'' w/4.10 gears....im also thinking of running a 100 shot to it...what does this cam sound like?....what am i looking at here guys ??

thanks for the help

I'm gonna say no on that combo for 2 reasons.

1. The valves on those heads & the combustion chambers are more practical for a larger ci motor.. They would actually probably work pretty well on your buddy's 402, he outa think about keeping em'.

2. That cam has .525 lift & those heads flow well over 300 cfm @ .600 lift... Makes no sense to run a cam that small on a set of those heads.

i have the cam and its great, but only pay around 200 for it. as for the heads, they are designed for a bigger bore motor and you wont see a bunch of power for the money spent

Keep the Stage 2s and buy a matching cam.

How good of a friend is he? Why not buy the heads, and sell the cam kit. The PP st2 heads should have a better spring and retainer setup than the kit comes with any way. If you can turn around and sell the kit for 1/2 price, you still offset the cost of getting a much better cam. I'm not sure why you would want to run such a small cam, when you've already upgraded to a 9" with 4.10's. At least consider on of the popular 224/224 cams.

It would make decent power. But that wouldn't be my cam of choice for those heads. If heads were stock, use the cam. I would keep the heads, sell the cam, and buy another one. But don't **** your buddy off either.
