Default cam with zo6 heads

Bear with me this is the frist time i am getting to the motor 2000 ss camaro m6 bet run 12.7 110mph all intake and exhaust done. Only mods to motor are 28.8 lb z06 injectors ls6 intake. I have just purchased a set of zo6 heads new. wondering what would be a good place to start in the cam area. compression ration jumped .5 with these heads should i have them milled.030 to come up to 11:1 any ideas would be great

That depends on a lot of things . . . do you have to pass emissions, do you like a rough, lopey idle, do you mind doing spring maintenance, what are your ultimate hp and rpm goals for the engine, will you ever install heads and headers, M6 or A4 tranny, rear end gears?

...will you ever install heads and headers, .....
I assume since he purchased z06 heads and asking about a cam for them, he is going to install heads

...about the cam - I was asking myself the same q. and my logic is that GM did its research and thinks the best cam for a daily driver and those heads should have a lot of exhaust duration (02' ls6 cam - 204/218] => expecially if you are not running headers, the cam generally should be traditional split, probably less split for a bigger cam. Then it's all about how big you want to go and how much are willing to sacrifice in terms of drivability and reliability.

Not too long ago a guy had a Z06 and ran a TR227 and got like 414 at the wheels with minor headers and minor bolt ons.
