Default DDing ms3 in gto

i am going to go with a set of stock 243 casted heads, with ls6 intake, and ms3 cam, and a 150-200 shot and hope for close to 600/650.

my question is my gto will see close to 10k miles a year, is the ms3 DDable and if i get stuck in traffic sometime will i be kicking myself in the *** for going so big?

thanks

I have tuned a couple of MS3 equipped cars, most with TSP's ported heads. All of them were the only vehicles for the customers to drive and all (when tuned properly) drove almost like stock. They were very happy with their setups for daily use.

Personally, I'd suggest staying in the 22x/22x duration on a DD - especially if it's an M6. Driveability is a concern and I'm a big advocate of saying that 90+% of driveability is in the tune. However, there are A LOT of tuners out there who are good~great at getting WOT numbers, but lack at getting the car to drive like or close to stock - especially on the bigger cams.

IMO, a 22x/22x cam won't sacrifice a whole lot on the top end and will maintain more power under the curve. If my assumption of an M6 is wrong, I'd still stand by this because you want to run it on the bottle, which probably means you'll need a tighter converter that doesn't stall up so high. If that's the case, then you'll want more mid-range grunt.

That's just my $0.02.

In my searches and researching about the various cams on here and driveability, the MS3 is a nice DD if you get it tuned properly, and even the MS4 has decent street manners if you get it tuned well. I'm personally going with an MS4 in my upcoming cam swap (since I have to pull the heads anyway) in my DD 99 m6. Tuning is a definite must.
