Anyone running Isky cam?
Im looking to jump into the H/C group and was looking through cams this weekend when my dad said i should look at isky, i had known about isky for a long time and he was an old school hot rodder with his 64 chevelle and he had an isky in it... so i looked at their website and they have some pretty radical stuff for ls1's it seems...
i was looking at this cam
grind no type rr-265/275 hydraulic roller application good mid-range power. good vacuum & good idle. 3.23-3.70 axle ratio. 9.5-1.5:1 compr. computer compatible with stage1 chip. stock converter. up to 650 cfm carb. rpm-range 2000-6000 valve lift int. ex.
seemed like it would be a monster.... plus the bonus of isky is dad said he'll pay for the cam! so wut do you all think or know from experiance

That cam is a 220/230, .530"/.550", on a 113 LSA. Duration is decent but the lift is on the very mild side. Most LS1 aftermarket cams in that range of duration have about over .570" lift on them.

Well, you cant beat free! So if he wants to pay, I say go for it. Another upside to it is that you could get away with running LS6 springs since they are rated to .570 lift.
I haven't seen anyone running an ISKY cam yet, so I don't really know much about them, but don't be afraid of running a cam with low lift. I made 393rwhp with only .525 lift. My cam is slightly larger (226/236), but also has a 10* separation between the int/exh duration like the one you mentioned (220/230)

i wasn't even aware that isky made cams that really worked with an LSx ...
I know they make cams for an Iron Duke and traditional style SBC/BBC and even some 6 cyls...
never seen an LSx cam from them though
