Exclamation Crank Gear will not slide on????

As is says, we are putting the stock crank gear back on due to issues with under drive pully hitting the oil pump because of the double roller timing chain. So long story short the crank gear slides about half way on and stops. What should i do?????

I went to Ace hardware and bought a 6" long bolt with the same thread. Pulled it right on without traumatizing my rotating assembly and all of the bearings! The bolt cost me $5.oo, but it was well worth it.

I forgot the thread pitch and diameter, just take your stock bolt and find a nut that will fit on it and find a 1" longer bolt.

He's talking about the gear, not the pulley, unless you gat a sleeve to fit over the crank and some really big washers to pull the sleeve up against the gear. Otherwise oven at 250 to 300 degrees should do it.

Go to Auto Zone (or something like it) and get a short piece of small diameter exhust pipe that will slide over the end of the crank. Heat the gear in the oven (don't let the wife catch you do this) and use the pipe to tap it on.
