Default 62cc AFR 225 finally available (and in stock)

Guys,

I should have made this announcement a month ago but better late than never.

The 62 cc small chamber (large bore) 225's have been available now for quite some time.

I have a spent alot of time redesigning the chamber configuration and valvejob height to leave you guys with a small chamber 225 (guys looking for higher compression) without any adverse effect on flow. As an added bonus, intake manifolds and accessory bracket holes are all in their standard position at 62 cc's versus a larger milled head which would effect manifold height (and location) as well as accessory holes on the endpads.

The AFR P/N for these heads are 1610 and their pricing is the same as our 72cc 225's...

Also, they will require the same head gasket bore as the larger heads....a 4.125 bore (or larger) will be what is needed. The actual chamber width is 4.100. This head can be used effectively on a 3.900 bore engine but it is imperative that you run the larger bore gasket with that combination. The fact the chamber is larger than the bore does NOT pose a problem if you use the proper head gasket as descibed above.

Thanks,
Tony

Great news Tony. Any chance of getting flow numbers on a 3.900" bore and a 4.00" bore?

how much does using the larger gasket affect compression and such?
Might have to borrow some money and try a set on my 383

Nice job Tony,
The prospect of a high compression 427 are looking better.
What are the valve drop measurements?

As long as the new gasket has the same thickness as the old gasket, the larger diameter bore of the 4.100 gasket will have very little affect on compression.
