Head & Cam Swap Parts List for Comment
Since it is the middle of winter and I have the car torn apart for the most part, I'm thinking of doing a head and cam swap in addition to the minor mods already done. I've been wanting to add a decent amount of HP, keep it drivable, and have good looks under the hood. Car is an 02 SS with 6 speed and CME. Only about 30K miles. Shooting for 2008 Hot Rod Power Tour.
Done shorty headers, 78/78 FAST, FAST fuel rails, Nasty Performance billet valve covers and coil mounts, MSD coils and wires. I'm also planning a true dual hookup to the CME.
Under Consideration....TR 224/224 114 cam, Patriot LS1 Stage 2 Heads with dual springs. Crane Gold Race 1.7 rocker kit with 3/8" rods and new Crane lifters. Will likely do oil pump also.
Have also considered the Comp Cams 1.75 Pro Magnum rockers also. And I keep wondering if I should spend the $$ for AFR 205's.
I want to have a solid head/valve train base in case I choose later to go with a more aggressive cam.
One question also....wanting to go ahead and use ARP head studs. Any issues getting the heads over the studs with the engine in the car?

We do the PRC cnc ported head combos with 224 cams & 228 cams all the time. If your looking for a crazy bang for the buck combo we have cnc ported 241 ls1 heads, & 220/224 camshaft package for $1000 with the double springs already installed! Another option is we currently have the 5.3l stage 2.5 PRC & ls6 cnc ported heads on special in the sponsor section! You might check those posts out. I think if you search for PRC cylinder heads in the dyno section you'll find that the power results speak for themself!
