Default Cam only suggestions for LS1-BMW M3

I am working on an LS1 swap into an M3.
It will be an occasional street car and used for road racing/open track type events.

I just picked up a set of stock LS6 heads with Patriot Gold dual springs.
I will have these heads milled to achieve 11:1 ~ 11.5: CR.
Looking for a good cam to go with these heads and that will be good for road racing type application. Power under the curve and good torque is important.

Other mods on the car/engine will be long tube headers and will be running an LS6 intake.

Any suggestions?

Local shop suggested a 232/232 .595 112 LSA.
Would any of the LG grind cams be good?

what power band are you going to be in?

I like the G5x1- 228/232

You may want to ask Patrick G on here as he is kind of the cam guru, and can point you in the right direction.

VRx3 or VRx4 from Vengence are really nice and will not need any notching, even with the milled head.

226/228 or 228/230 respectivly

Well,
Just wanting suggestions on what will work well with the LS6 heads. Just don't want to go at this blindly. Basically want to get the most power/torque without it being a peaky drag race cam.

With be driven on the street but certainly not a daily driver.

Maybe I need to ask some road race guys too.

I think you need to specify the wieght of the M3, the gearing you'll be using, etc. The 226 to 230 are too long IMHO, for road racing I would think you want to be able to drive out of the turns at lower rpms and take it up to 5k etc. A cam that is going to give you good power between 2000 and 5500 is where you want to be I would think.

Others with more experience in that arena can chime in.

i'd give a futral cam a try. I loved how driveable my old F-11 was, and it put down 390... stock long block. should work pretty good with stock LS6 heads.
