Most people get frustrated with the question b/c it gets asked so many times. Have you read the cam guide sticky at the top of this page? It should answer most of your questions and point you in the right direction. Kinda big is open to interpretation especially when talkin about a daily driver, because someone is gonna come in here and say "I daily drive my TRex or MS4 and I love it". The larger cams will require at least a 4000 stall to see their full potential and in MY OPINION is no good to drive everyday. Of course it can be done, but I wouldn't do it. As far as nitrous is concerned, if you are using less than a 200 shot pretty much any off the shelf cam will be fine. But if you plan on spraying the car most of time you run it, I would stay away from reverse split cams. IMO 228 duration is the middle ground for a daily driver and I would stay below 236. Hope I helped without being too much of a *****.

I don't see any thumbs?
I would stay around the 220 range and a standard split cam or single pattern. You don't want to go too big for your first cam. The 224 is a good street cam that's mild enough for a DD. Get it on a 112 for a little chop and on a 114 for none. 224/228 would be a good one too. Just look and read and you'll find one.

I DD my car, I have an ss4000 stall on the way and leaning towards tr reverse split cam 230/224. Probably going to suck as a DD o well. Most will say tr 224/224 is best DD cam. I was set on 224 cam with 3000 stall for a while, but the more I sat back and thought about it I wanted more bang for the buck in the end. My advice is to ride in a car with some of these mods done then sit back, read for a while then make a decision. I bet it wont be what you thought you first wanted

My cam is a custom 228/232 .595/.598 110+1 LSA. I think this cam size would be great for you, but I would highly suggest a 112 or 114 LSA. The 110 has a rougher idle and takes a little more time to tune. Plus 110 is not the best option for nitrous cars. When I got the cam I was building an N/A set. Now that I'm spraying, and I know that 228/232 is streetable for me I'm going bigger. I also started off with a 3200 converter and very quicky had Yank restall it to 3600.

The best way to make an educated decision is to make a thread in the regional forums. Basically ask a few people to ride along in their cars and get an idea. People love showing off their cars so this shouldnt be a problem You will also get a good idea of who you want to tune your car once you get the cam.

well, the ms4 and t-rex are huge cams!! people do daily drive them. if your gonna run a huge cam, tuning is key!! i myself have been in circles on selecting a cam as well. my car is a street car. i do want a bad *** street car, but im not out to set records or rip 10's!! the 224/224 cam is pretty much the popular daily driver cam on the small side.

The 224 is a well proven cam, but if your wanting something a little bigger that's good with spray i'd look into the TSP 233/239. Not exactly sure what stall would be best with the cam though, not an auto guy... but I'd say 3500-3600 range.

The TSP Torquer 2 or 228R work good for daily drivers as well.

Don't overlook Patriots 226/226-585/585 on a 112 LSA cam either . It has great drivability, sounds way bigger than it is , makes good power under the curve and for $279 it's hard to beat !
