Quick!! In Here!! Help me decide how im gonna Blister my buddies C5
so my boys been talkin lots of smack about modding his C5. this is his first ls1 engine car. hes never modded a car. hes not that great of a driver, but hes getting better. I, on the other hand, an in my 4th LS1 car, modded them all, had a 2000 SS that went 11.25 @ 125 (505rwhp 545rwtq). needless to say, ive done this before. now its time to do it again > so lets here some thoughts fellas.
first off, my GTO is my dd. for now anyways....
04 M6. now then, here are my options.
1. TNT Twister Force 1 (75-150HP) w/NOS Bottle, 15 lb (27" x 7") $1014.99
2. MSD Window Switch $87.60
3. MSD 3000 Window Switch Pill Set $22.99
4. MSD 6000 Window Switch Pill Set $22.99
5. 05 Factory Option 18x8 Chrome Plated (set of 4) $1320
6. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 245/35 ZR18 (set of 4) $900
7. SLP GTO Longtubes - w/cats $1,169.96
8. Quick Time Performance Electric Exhaust Cutout - 2x 2-1/4" $400
9. K&N GTO Induction $259.99
10. Eibach GTO Lowering Springs $279.99
11. SLP GTO Heavy duty rear swaybar $148.27
12. SLP GTO Skid Guard $161.96
13. GM LS7 Cluch Kit w/ LS2 Y-Body Flywheel $489.99
14. B&M GTO Ripper Shifter $209.99
15. 3.5" aluminum - rear yoke included - MAX 7200 RPM $899.99
16. Baer Declarotor Front Pair/Rear Pair - 2004 GTO $459.99
17. SLP Underdrive Balancer 04-06 GTO $224.96
18. LS6 59cc Heads & Cam Package $1769.99
19. 90mm FAST Intake and Nick Williams 90mm TB Package $1149.99
thats a Total of $10,993 before shipping, installation and dyno tuning.
I figure with the right cam selection i can get damn close to 430rwhp w/o the TNT 100 shot. Or i figure i could do something like this...
1. STS Rear Mounted Turbo System, 2004 Pontiac GTO $4495.00
2. Auto Meter Phantom Series, 2-1/16" Mechanical Boost 30 in Hg.-Vac./20 PSI $56.99
3. AEM Guage-type Wideband O2 sensor $299.99
4. Speed Inc Blower Grind cam shaft $379.99
5. Patriot Dual Spring KIT and Comp Pushrods $374.99
6. SLP Underdrive Balancer 04-06 GTO $224.96
7. 05 Factory Option 18x8 Chrome Plated (set of 4) $1320
8. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 245/35 ZR18 (set of 4) $900
9. Eibach GTO Lowering Springs $279.99

15. Baer Declarotor Front Pair/Rear Pair - 2004 GTO $459.99
Total of $10,704 before shipping, installation and dyno tuning. Im hoping for 500ish rwhp if i bump up the boost just a bit.
so there it is, whadya guys think about it.

The only thing on your list thats SLP I would buy is the underdrive. SLP is way overpriced. You could buy the STS and be done with it. Sounds like you have a big budget! I would go with Trickflow heads, roller rockers, a sweet custom cam, bolt ons and stay N/A.
If you are only choosing from the option listed, I would go with the STS. If you go with the STS now, you can get a forged short block dwn the road and increase your boost and make some realy good power.

I agree, however, ive used them in the past and pricey they may be, they all seem to be quality parts. i like the skid plate just for ease of oil change. and i was informed that i would want/need a set of headers with the STS kit, so jack that option up another $1100

If you are going to do the turbo, why not do a twin turbo setup instead. Im not a big fan of STS although it may be a good product, i just think you would be more satisfied with the twin turbos. Just my $0.02

man, flawed plans i think. I think you should go with the trick flow heads, vindicator cam, and F2 nitrous pilled for the 200 shot.... BIG power... Good tires, and a good clutch as well... Car would be much faster.. But whatever, your car.

only advice i can give you is the true price of force induction bro. Sure the kit cost 4500 but there are more variables to look at too check out this thread:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/567592-real-price-forced-induction.html
Me personally i would go with H/C/I/Nitrous

Thanks for the input guys, the more i think about it the more i was leaning towards H/C/N combo. turns out the only reason hes been talking so much **** is his dad just bought him a supercharger and some longtubes. granted he knows nothing about the LS engine series. im afraid hes gonna frag the car before i get mine built. i think hes still running the stock clutch (there was no mention of an upgrade, much less a fuel pump). either way, at least now i know what im up against. high 400s-low500s i figure. hes still running the stock catback and stock internals. so im thinkin big cam, decent heads, maybe LSX intake.... then the TNT 100 shot. that should be a race.

Wow his daddy bought him a supercharger? Im only 19 and that still sounds rediculous... hes gunna kill someone... thats what we said about my friend whos dad bought him a supercharger for the gto his dad also bought him. A year later this guy i know is in a coma forever and the other person is retarded forever, while my friend and his friend walked away with broken bones.... Anyways be SUPER carefull, SERIOUSLY though.
But on the setup... This stuff sounds like a bunch of newbie bs (sorry just bein honest) a blown stock ls1 sounds like it sucks and aint gunna last for crap. Take your engine out, build it taking out all the weak links, pistons, rods, bearings, cam, then turbo or biturbo it as cheap as you can and have it tuned and ull rip the nuts off his vette in every gear for around 8 g's unless you have someone do everything for you, then your lookin at... certainly "more"

my vote goes with your basic bolts ons, anyhting from a 226 to a 230 cam and a set of ported ls6 heads, few susp. mods, 150 shot and some et streets and you should be good.... and if u have the money later down the road or if u want to first i would do rear end and tranny work

do yourself a favor and call tsp... they will hook you up with everything you need bolt on and h/c wise... then call any of the nitrous sponsors and they will send you in the right direction with that
