Default LS6 with AFRs

I just purchased a Ls6 block with low miles to start my H/C build. My mods will be..
AFR 205s
MS4 cam or similar camshaft
Ported Fast 90/90
Kooks LTs with True Duals
Ported MAF
SLP CAI
Powerbond Pulley
LS7 Lifters
Yella Terra Rockers
9" with 4.10s
42lb injectors
Racetronix Fuel Pump
and all other supporting mods for H/C

What do you guys think i will pull on the dyno? Any estimates would be nice

490 rwhp plus or minus 10. Call some vendors for cam choices, cause with that package, your cam choice will be the deciding factor. They will be glad to help you.
Stroke it to 383 since you are putting it together, maybe see 525 rwhp then. Send Tony an email at ARF, he is always happy to help out.

How much does it cost to get a set of heads milled for higher compression? Would that produce a bit more hp?

not much couple hundred bucks with shipping but your going to have to watch how much you mill them heads so you dont run into pvc problems if it was me i would leave the heads unmilled and just run a 40 mil gasket but still check the pvc clearance or call tsp and see if that cam will clear im preety sure it will but its alwasy good to check

i put down 430 on a mustang dyno so there should be no reason you dont hit atleast 450 with that combo but dont be disapointed if you dont dyno numbers arnt really everything what counts is what it runs at the track

Well having a few problems at the moment. Drove the car earlier today and im having problems getting the car to go into gears. Think its the syncros in the trans but im hoping its just the clutch. If it is the transmisson....looks like ill just be putting my set of PRC 5.3s on the block. ALways something....

How much hp difference would i feel between the afrs and the prcs? Is is really worth spending another $1300?

I'm getting ready to do a similar setup on my CTSV. Your cam is way bigger, mine is 232/236. I'm really looking or 460-470rwhp from mine. With the MS4 you should be right at 500.

The AFRs will add a little up top over the PRCs, but will help way more under the curve. AFRs will make your MS4 a little more streeatable. Also remember to keep in mind your SCR, DCR, quench, and PTV. You may even want to consider doing a custom ground cam and possibly do more with less.

Well something is wrong with my transmisson atm so i might have to just use my PRCs. Hopefully i can still get some good power out of them.

notes on milling AFR heads

Any X series( G5, X1, X2, X3, X4, 111/112/114 excluding the xX ( which in most cases, thats install only here at the shop) will fit on a stock engine, 112 or 114. The X3 110 will not clear stock heads, but it will be close on the AFRs. You gain quite a bit of PTV with AFRs. If you are not sure, and want to know what your setup came in at, check it.
Since the MS4 was designed to clear a stock engine, we can infer that there would be more clearance based on the data above. Leaving the heads unmilled will make the car lazy on the bottom end, and leave a few HP on the table across the board.

As always, its best to check PTV clearance and leave NOTHING to chance!
