Default UD Pully w/ Heads Cam swap

Hey guys,

Getting ready to do my PRC 5.3 & TR224 install next weekend and just wanted to make sure I covered all of my bases. My question is should I go with an underdrive pulley? What kind of gains will I see with the head/cam setup. I've done a search and it seems like everyone talks about doing it to near stock cars. Just curious if I should spend the money on something like this.

Thanks for your help

sure, why not. youve already got it off anyhow. UDP's show a solid 1/10th normally and free up a few hp. its worth it, and its even better when youre doing everything to install/remove it anyhow

if u have the money for it then do it. your stock pully will be off anyway so just relace it with underdrive one

I put one on with that exact head cam combo and put down 402rwhp through an auto. There is no reason not to because you will likely raise the idle when you get the tune anyway so you wont have to worry about charging problems. If you havent already you should get a .04 thick head gasket to raise the compression a little.

I had one and didnt notice any gain. Plus I had to get a smaller belt. If you run a/c and stereo you will notice the drag. Not worth it.
