Default '03 LQ9 fair price? Tranny options?

I'm looking at an '03 LQ9 from a Trailblazer SS. Engine is complete from pan to intake (accessories, harness, ECU).

Currently has the stock 4L65E behind it. 55K miles on both. What is a fair price for the complete engine only, and engine / trans combo?

I'd plan to put a T56 behind it. I assume this is a simply swap as long as I use an LS1 6 speed (non-LT1), correct?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Trailblazers had LS2, not LQ9s. Iron 6.0L go for around $500-$1500 depending on how compelte they are. I am not to sure about LS2 though, but I would image adding $300-$500 more? All LSx based engines use the "standard" Chevy bolt pattern, so any Chevy trans will bolt up. As for the T56, yes an LSx T56 RWD trans will bolt up to any LSx engine using factory parts. Hope this helps.

i was thinking 2,000-2,500 for long block.....somewhere in that area is fair....hopefully the previous owner took decent care of the vehicle, including the engine.....i got a lq4 out of a 02 2500hd and paid 1,200 for it.....that was all the way up to the intake and fuel rails....hell even the clutch fan was still on it......but needed hot tanked, hoaned and a couple other things because there was a head gasket leak.....once i got into the motor i could tell previous owner drove it into the groung......6.0 are pretty much bullet proof.....either way it's cheeper than new....and parts are reasonable if you have to rebuild any internal parts inside the block
good luck
