Don't delete the thermostat...

You need a regular SBC thermostat. It is covered in the instructions. They are available at any parts store. I got mine at NAPA. It goes in the neck at the top of the pump, not in the old one's location. The old one doesn't get used, but the neck it went in does.

Don't get the Mr Gasket brand. It won't fit.

PS be careful you don't scratch the pump. I used a huge set of channel locks with electrical tape on the jaws. Works well if you're careful.

Go to the parts store and tell them you want a 160* t-stat out of a 1968-69 Camaro 350. This is just the regular old t-stat. Its the one your supposed to use.
