Default all really big...cam only cars (please enter)

i would just like to see what size cams some of you are running and if there were any issues. anybody who reads this thread post up your info.

i would prefer to hear about cars running more than 240 int./ex. duration and more than .600 lift. mainly because the cam i just purchased is a 244/244 .612/.612 114 lsa. and i am hoping there wont be any issues with PTV????

all comments and info on you setup and possibly some feedback on mine would be great!!

Definitely measure it. .070 or better is what you need...

stock heads? stock gaskets? how much advance? that cam looks like its on XER lobes. the exhaust should clear fine. depending on your advance, that 114 might save you on the intake side.

stock heads...stock gaskets. yes it is a comp cam with the XER lobes.

right now im just gatheringparts and getting ready to install within the next month or so. for the most part the GTO is stock.

im just looking to get the most out of my car with a cam only setup. wonder if the cam will clear with some 5.3's?

well with that cam you will have some drive ability issues my cam is just a tad smaller on the intake side and i have ls6 heads witch is a little more compression than your ls1 and i have to be at 1800 rpm to keep the car from stuttering wile in gear.

did you actually check for PTV...what are you revving to?

im just starting to get worried now as i think i may want something that has been proven. rather than trial and error at the moment. especially sincei dont know if i can afford "error"..........

then again...i may be going with a 408 after i get my return this year. but i dont wanna build a motor around my cam.

well make sure your pistons will have valve reliefs than youll have no problems with PVC.
