Hey guys I am doing a H/C package, I have everything torn down except the oil pump. Are there any tricks to remove the oil pump pick up tube. Or do I need to loosen the oil pan bolts and drop the oil pan. And if so do I need a new gasket on the oil pan? Thanks George

drop pan onto k member and no need for new gasket ive reused the rubber gaskets on these engines a couple times with no problems, just torque the oil pan up in the correct fashion
