Default Having a hp debate. I say his dyno is generous

Before I give you the actual numbers on the dyno, let me tell you the mods and you guys tell me how much power it should be putting out to the ground. I know every car, dyno, and tuner is different but give me a ballpark.

02+ LS6
stock heads
Magic Stick v3 "MS3" Cam, Kooks 1-7/8" Long Tube Headers, High Flows, Basanni x-pipe, Borla "stinger" quad tip Cat back, Smoothed out upper intake manifold, polished and knifed throttle body, dyno-tuned.

I'd say about 420-425 rwhp.

+1 on good call.

Since you've listed cats (highflows), I'd say TheLS1Kid nailed the M6 Dynojet number.

ok this guys claims 472 at the wheels. I told him either

1-he's being lied to
2-he's uninformed
3-his tuner's dyno is extremely generous

i don't know if he's regeared to 4:10 or not. would that make a difference in the numbers?

I also told him there are absolutely no LS6 with just cam and headers with 472 horses. Is this accurate or not?

LOL, no way possible. That would be hard to do with the best heads money can buy and a 346. don't get me wrong its possible but NEVER in a million years with stock heads. The gears will make a world of difference. The lower the gears you have the more power you lose but than again you are allot faster if you aren't spinning. Tell buddy there is no way and if he actually believes the tuner and the tuner believes he's right they both need head examinations.

Oh sorry, I lied there is way one this is possible on stock heads and cam/headers only. Add a 50 shot ontop and there you have your 472. Or I guess unless for some stupid reason that they converteed it to fwhp than yes that would make sense. Never to the wheels though!

allngn_c5 made something like 49x with pretty much every bolt on, G5x3, AFR 205's, Fast 90/90 in his c5. But like I said he has WAYY more stuff done to his 346 than they guy you guys are talking about.

Could be a typo? 427rwhp sounds right on for that setup.

472 with stock heads? Flywheel = Y | Rear Wheel = N

This is one way to make 475rwhp

Why don't you just have him take it to the track? Dyno's are a tuning tool and a tuning tool only, every dyno is different and depending on the calibration will read out different numbers.

The track tells all, dyno numbers don't mean ****.

if you take rwhp and divide it by .85 it gives you fwhp. if you divide 400rwhp by .85 that makes about 470 at the fly. i bet he's just a touch over 400rwhp.

That would put him about 400whp and that seems a little low. Closer than 472 but still doesn't seem right. 472 is complete BS any which way you look at it. If he believes it then he's really gullible.
