Default im getting tired

ok i have put the motor back together again and still the same low oil pressure problem. starts at 40 when cold and slowly goes dowen to 20. it is a stock pump. now the car is overheating. i really need help. any suggestions and if anyone is in the area wanna come over for a 6 pack and some help.

Have you tried a new pump??
Are you sure the oil pump is mounted correctly???

Check the O ring on the oil pickup tube to ensure that you did not pinch it, also check your oil galley plugs to ensure that they are indeed there and seated. Had the same problem before. Major PITA. Best of luck.

Try a radiator flush and fill for the overheating.

You know, if you keep driving on low oil pressure and it gets worse, you could spin a bearing. Trust me, that sucks...

how many galley plugs are there. i know there is one in the back in the rear cover. anywhere else. thanks everyone

I would start by hooking up a diffrent oil gauge to make sure the oil sending unit isn't bad. and when you put the motor back in did you bleed off any air in the cooling system at the front crossover coolent pipe on the front of the heads. or you might have crossed the lines going in the right side of radiator.

...other galley plugs are in back of the cam retaining plate....under the big cam sprocket...

If you have some but not zero oil pressure, it is probably not the galley plugs...
