Will they work? Yes.
Is it the best idea when we have the main studs for only $185?
No and really something you want to do while a motor is out and can be align honed.

If you you have low power goals and think you can do without them, you may want to think in the future. Main studs are not something you can just slap in later. It would be a very wise investment to do now assuming you are building an engine.
