I bought a ls6 intake off a blown motor!!
I recenlty purchased a ls6 intake off a motor than blown clean up! Is there any kind of way i can get all that debri out of there and not have to worry about some debri still stuck in there or something. I soaked the intake in parts cleaner several times and i use a shop vac and a air blower to flush that stuff out. Should it be fine???

Get a piece of wire or a coat hanger spray a little brake clean on it and pull it rag though the intake runners and you will get it clean...if you are worried about anything still in the intake runners get one of those little mirrors on a swivel and look up into the runners and check them out ..

I think you did it right with the cleening solvent as long as it was the kind of stuff you get from saftycleen nothing too nasty. Anythig stronger on plastic (basicly is not good to use) like brake cleen maby a little wont hurt but that stuff eats plastic.
If your worried send it off to tpis and have them make it a 90mm they will cleen it out good for ya.

You can't hurt a Z06 intake with brake clean...if you could mime would be phuched up beyond beleif..I cleaned it inside and out with a ton of brake clean before I sent it to the body shop to be painted...it looked like it was brand new when I finished cleaning it up ...
PS NEWS FLASH ... The intake is not made out of plastic

If you have a saftyKleen parts cleener its a ok way to go Brake CLeen takes paint off and yeah it might be a polymer stronger than plastic but I just wouldent use it to cleen out an intake, SOAP and WATER is realy what recomended.
but you can use what ever you want on a Z06 intake I'm goiong to use whats safer on my LS6 intake.

In the restor kit all it says is that the intake is made of a composit.
INTAKE MANIFOLD (GM restor kit 2001)
" The IAFM or integrated air fuel module is a one peice composite design..."

the intake manifold is made of nylon.....
As far as I can tell you should be fine. Whether you use the method you did or brakecleen it should be fine. If you don't see anything or feel anything it's good to go. Blow the runners out good and put it on. Now whether or not brake clean removes paint is irrelavant since the ls6 isnt painted black. This shouldn't be that hard. Dunk it in some soap and water and swish it around and blow it out. Done.

Well I think that you would confuse people if you said you had a Z06 intake its like saying I have a camaro intake well which one was it haha I'm just pickinig on the guy no hard fealings.
I guess the one thing that I would be concerned about is that hot metal peices can melt right into the composit materal, you do need to go threw it.
And the reason I say no to brake cleen because that stuff will eat seal and everything else like the kind of seals that are used to seal your intake and no the intake is not painted black but isnt it knda common sence to not use somthing on a composit that eats threw cleer coat ? I just dont want some kid thinking its Ok to use Brake Cleen for a multi purpose cleener its made to cleen brake roaters and stuff made of steel.

Since when is there a difference between a Z06 intake and a LS6 intake. They are the same thing.
Nylon is a form of polymer. So the intake is polymer just like everyone elses.

plastic is a polymer too, so your really not proving anything.
