Re: Whos running a decent cam on stock programming?
I just changed from a 218/.563/114+4 Comp XE cam to a 224/.563/112 3 days ago. The 218 cam ran perfectly well on stock programming. I was sure that I would have tuning issues with the 224 cam, but to my suprise.... it idles without stalling and makes awesome power. I didn't even have to drill the throttle body. All programming is stock, and I am sure I would pick up some power with tuning, but it isn't in the budget right now. The car is also an M6 which probably has something to do with it too. It will hunt for idle for about 5 seconds on a hot start-up, but then it is fine. No SES light either.

I ran the Izzo grind .581/.581 .224/.224 cam and it was an obvious power gain opver stock without tuning, but with tuning the car just rips. I see you have an M6, which is good cause an auto car would die as soon as you hit the brake without tuning.

Re: Whos running a decent cam on stock programming?
i've been running the tr230 for a few weeks now without any tuning. all i did was raise the idle stop screw a little bit. it surges a little and idle can be tricky to find on start ups but it's not to bad. i've become the master of pushing in the clutch with my left foot, then using my right foot to hit the brakes and feather the throttle to keep it from surging as much. so, moral of the story is, you can drive on a big cam without tuning, but it's not gonna drive real good. i'm getting my tuning done here very soon to clear up these drivablilty issues and get all the hp out of the cam
