I just installed different lifters and after I started the car, it started steaming. I immediately parked and found out that the driver's side was steaming like mad.. What are some possible causes? This was my first time trying something like this, so I'm sure there is quite an extensive list...

Which head gaskets did you use?

You might of not torqued the head down correctly.

Did you use new bolts, clean the block and heads real well, torq properly then go the correct degree further....????

Did you bleed the air out of the cooling system real good?It takes about a 1/2 hour of slowly pooring in the coolant to get all the air out.It sounds like you had alot of air in the Heads and it overheated the head causing it to blow the gasket on you.
