Re: MTI resleeved vs ARE resleeved
Darton is just a brand name. They make "dry" and "wet" sleeve types. The wet ones are the high dollar ones that replace the entire cylinder bore area in the block and interlock. ARE can do either setup, but not at the same price. MTI only uses dry type sleeves.

Both methods have their advantages & disadvantages. We chose the dry sleeve method and we install our sleeves the exact same way the dry sleeves are installed in the C5R blocks. If it's good enough for a GM race block, it's good enough for us.

Granted I'm not an engine builder, and have no experience with MTI.I just have read many posts about people having problems dropping sleeves with the dry sleeves.I have'nt seen this with the wet sleeves.By all means educate me if I'm wrong.

Both ARE adn MTI are both using a very similar process now with very similar sleeves. Both are dry sleeves and in both cases the blocks are put in an oven and the sleeves are frozen. then the sleeves are inserted. This process is relatively new for MTI, I think ARE has been doing it for awhile. Neither have been dropping sleeves with this process (per both the vendors and their customers on here).
I used MTI for mine
MTI has done very very well by me.

I went with MTI ...great people to work with. If you order from MTI you will work with Wayne or Steve, both are excellent. I worked with Wayne and he is on top of his game, get to the point, top notch follow-up kinda guy.

Lingenfeter is the only sponsor of this board to develop the SDarton wet sleeve....as of today, however, they have not shipped a single block....
..there are non-sponsors who have been using the Darton wets for a long time, however. See the other posts - here./..

Depends on how long you want to wait for your motor to be delivered......some people have had nightmares with trucking and motors dropping to the floor....I would give MTI a call.

ARE does not use wet sleeve Darton stuff Dave, they use the dry sleeve stuff.
