Default 383 cam

Blew my motor so now im in the process of building a 383 new to this so i was looking for opinions on a cam im building it for a 200 shot of nitrous but from what ive read i dont have to run a nitrous cam to spray that much so need help for best motor cam to work with TSP PRC 2.5 ls6 heads most have told me about a 248/254 .611 .613 on a 114 ar should i run something on a tighter lsa or stick with it wanting as close to 500 to the rears as possible i already have
eagle crank, scat rods, diamond -7cc pistons
3.73 gears and a 3800 stall

Default 383 cam

its not my main car but choosing between it and my stock formula i would drive it in town every day 15 miles at most but occasionally i would put about 130-150 miles a day when i head up to the nearest city for their car cruise and a little racing maybe once a month

That cam will work - just make sure you get a good tune.

I'm running a 239/248 110+2 and I'm putting down some great power with my budget build. It's a good sized cam but its on the edge in my opinion (24 degree's of overlap). I'd look into something else as that cam is a little large. Looks like the TSP Giant cam? Not a bad cam but a little large for what you're trying to achieve/cubes. Why not check out some of our sponsers ---> and see what they can offer you?

I myself am contemplating retarding my cam and running it straight up to get a little more mid-range/top end charge.

yeah it is TSPs texas giant and no its not really only a weekend driver but i only live a like 2 miles from my job so it doesnt kill me and like i said its not my only vehicle i have my stock farmula also but i want 11's motor and 10s on spray

my last set up was ms4 with stock heads and i didnt feel the cam was worth it to put in the new motor

yeah those ms4's are fun to drive around on the street. someone trips at how big it is on a stock cube motor. I had a blast with mine its going back in the new motor. I would say run that in your 383

what cc heads? your dcr is gonna be pretty low with that cam.
I use a 246 248 114 in mine and my dcr is only 7.6 with -7diamonds. I would go with low 240's with like a 112+2.
I am lowering my intake duration and gonna run a 111+2

Just to give you and idea I am running a 239/243 Futral cam on a 112 lsa. It made decent power at 487/473. I am currently planning a new cam as it appears the heads I have require a little more split and duration.
