Default which windage tray

My LS1 engine came with 2 windage trays. 1 long and 1 short. This is a LS1 corvette engine using the batwing type oilpan. Both fit but I am wondering which one is better to use.
Thanks

If the long one fit, use that one.. the short one if for a F-Body pan and only covers 3/4 of the crank.

Both should be able to bolt up to the block. the question is, do they come into contact with the pan. That will also assist with picking the correct tray. The F-Body pan has little clearance on the front of the pan and in order to use that pan, GM shorten the Tray.

The holes will be different. If i remember three holes, will be oblong. Use the longer windage tray.

You have to use the short one if you are using an fbody oil pan, the longer one will not clear the pan. You also have to use the correct pickup tube. The longer one is for use with the vette pan and the vette pickup tube.
