Angry Heater is not hot just warm(HELP it's Cold)

Last few days it's been cold here and i have been trying to use my heater but i have noticed that it never gets that hot just warm . I have warmed up the car to normal temps and i have turned off the heater then turned it back on, I think i mit have air in my ac/heater lines because sometimes the heater gets cold then warms up again. Last year i just had the whole AC system replace because the compressor was weak and not working as well.
Has anyone had this problem?
Any help would be nice?

If you have a stock Tstat it sounds like your heater core.

If its your stock tstat it could be stuck open in which case needs to be replaced which is what i had to do to get heat back. Now if your very unlucky then it could be your heater core which will be a pain in the *** to replace. So what i would do is try replacing the tstat first and see if that fixes your problem, then go from there. It may not be a bad idea to go back with a stock temp tstat or go with a 180deg, anything cooler than that without a tune may cause your car to not come out of a closed loop run and make your gas mileage go to ****. Just a thought

if you bring it up to temp and its still not blowing hot then its not you thermostat (and its not overheating)... i would try flushing the heater core before replacing anything... the heater core is easily clogged by build up and rust... why buy a new one if you can just flush the hoses and core.

I have a 160* stat and my heat keeps the interior cozy, but the heat has to be cranked in this single digit weather.

Might wanna check your water pump as well. If it is a high mile water pump, it may not be curculating the fluid like it should be.

Flush the cooling system then replace the t-stat with a 180, fill it with new coolant and distilled water and you should be fine.

there is a TSB that may help you. there is some foam that seals the heater core to the box, and when the seal deteriorates/get pushed out of the way it allows air to bypass the heater core. so before you go and spend a bunch of money replacing parts i would see if you can check the seals in your heater box. hope this helps.
