DAMN THAT SUCKS !!! if you can get hold of it with vise grips REALLY TIGHT so it dont twist whats left off you should be able to get it out.or you could get reverse drill bit a little smaller than bolt and try it will usually come out before you drill through the bolt,if not you will have a hole in the bolt then try ezeout, hope this helps.

what side is broken?
I have a driver side head with the bolt and ez-out broken in it but the passenger side is in good shape if you end up needing one.
The ez-out is your best option for now.
Whatever you do DONT break the damn ez-out in the bolt or your looking at machine work.

I don't have the rear bolt on the passenger side installed. No leaks in 2 years. I used new factory steel gaskets.

weld a piece of steel rod to it and twist....break it off and repeat until you can do it with pliers....

...i know it's not practical, but it's an idea. EZ out is your best bet i would say

id try the vise grips first. then if that doesnt work, an ez out is probably gonna be your best bet.

It happened to me last year, except it was already broken when the exhaust Manifold was on. I couldn't get it out so I ended up pulling the head and taking it to the machine shop to get it out.

You need to pull the head. If your smart you will take it to the machine shop, but if you want to test fate drill it out carefully going in the (center) of the bolt. Go small at first and gradually get bigger. If you are successfull you will have to tap it but I don't know any one that has this ability other than a machine shop.

or a tap and die set. A ezout would be a much better choice.

I Didn't read you broke off your Manifold bolt in the head. Oh well I wouldn't spend to much time with it. You can getaway without it leaking . Maybe try some rtv around the head by that broken bolt. I doubt this is even neccesary. Put that bitch on and see what happens.

Vice grips. If that won't do it you will likely have to run without it or pull the head. I don't think you can get a drill in there to use an (not so easy) easy out. As a machinist/tool maker, I don't care much for easy outs. If you break an easy out your screwed and have to burn it out with an EDM machine. Usually it's easier to just drill it out with a tap drill being careful to hit dead center so as not to damage the threads, then carefully clean it out with a tap.

I would try the old vise grips first, then an ez-out, and when neither of those work very well since it may or may not be cross threaded take a nut maybe 1/2", put it over the bolt and weld the INSIDE of the nut to the top of the bolt. This has never failed me, im just not sure if you have access to a welder and/or know how to use it.

I've dont that before. Use the craftsman bolt out kit. It's like sockets that you tap on with a hammer and use a wrench to turn out.

if you cant get it out with vise grips or an ez out, put the headers on and see if it leaks....be sure to use new factory steel gaskets....they seem to work best. if it leaks, take it from there, if not, dont worry about it.
